The venue of Intermag 2014 is Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It unites fascinating architectural and cultural attractions with a dynamic economic growth and a unique concentration of scientific institutions making the city one of the most attractive places in Germany.

• Saxon Switzerland with the famous Bastei bridge, the Koenigstein fortress and lots of bizarre sandstone rocks for hiking and climbing
• The Elbe valley with a large number of castles, parks and viney yards, including Moritzburg Castle, Pillnitz Castle and Park, the porcelain and wine town Meißen with its Albrechtsburg or Wackerbarth Castle with its more than 200 years tradition in wine growing and sparkling wine production

The technical sessions of Intermag 2014 will take place in the International Congress Center Dresden (ICD), situated near the attractions of the historic city center directly on the River Elbe. It was opened in 2004 and offers space for up to 6.000 visitors.
