Session overview available for handhelds (March 20, 2002)

The session overview is now also available for upload to your handheld device (Palm etc.), for instance in the AportisDoc format (PDB file, 2.5 kByte). For other formats see session overview.

Deadlines: Papers (14 Feb) and hotel (15 Feb) (February 7, 2002)
Important deadlines: The deadline for hotel reservations through the RAI hotel service is February 15^th. After this date the RAI Hotel Service can no longer guarentee accomodation. The deadline for manuscript submission to IEEE transcactions on magnetics is February 14^th. The February 14 manuscript deadline will be strictly enforced. Any paper arriving after this date at Courtesy will not be accepted. Please allow sufficient time for mail delivery. Novotel is close to RAI (January 14, 2002)
The RAI hotel service webpage has been updated. The Novotel (F) was mistakenly placed close to the city centre (#62), instead of close to the RAI (#63). The map and the pdf file hotelmap.pdf are now correct. Please excuse me for this annoying error. Leon.

Manuscript submission deadline extended to February 14^th (December 12, 2001)
The publication chair has decided to extend the deadline for manuscript submission to February 14^th 2002. This date will however be very strictly enforced. Any paper arriving at Courtesy after this day will certainly not be accepted for publication. See the instructions for manuscript submission.

Student support (October 28, 2001)
The Education Committee and the Awards Committee of the IEEE Magnetics Society are pleased to sponsor a small number of students working in magnetics to attend the Intermag Europe 2002 Conference. For more information, see Registration/Student_support (Navigation bar on the left).

Mira server problems solved (October 18, 2001)
Almost all problems with the Mira server are solved. Also the intermag2002@miracd.com e-mail address is functioning again, so please direct questions there. The only problem left is with co-author fields which cannot be edited or modified. Mira is looking into the problem and will try to solve it as soon as possible.
If accidently you entered your digests twice, you can have one of them deleted by Mira, please send a delete request to intermag2002@miracd.com, indicating which of the two digest numbers you want to have deleted. Please note however that all fields in you digest can be modified, you can even upload a new document, so there is no need to create new entries!

Continuing problems with the Mira server (October 18, 2001)
After yesterdays congestion of the Mira server, you are currently experiencing problems again, this time probably because of the large number of (large) digests that have been submitted. Some people get a message like:

We are again very sorry for this inconvenience, but we have to wait until Mira fixes the server. You can rest asure that nobody will fail to submit their digest because of technical problems. If necessary, the deadline for submission will be extended again. Deadline for digest submission extended (October 17 2001)
We are currently experiencing heavy congestions of the server of the company which takes care of digest submission. Some people get a message like:

error 'ASP 0113'
Script timed out
/intermag2002/signon.asp
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You
can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property
Server.ScriptTimeOut or by changing the value in the IIS
administration tools.

We are very sorry for this inconvenience, but there is very little we can do, and we have to wait until they wake up and go to work. To enable you to submit your digest, we extend the deadline for digest submission to Thursday 12:00 pm US westcoast time. Please try to submit your abstract in a quiet period (in the morning in Europe, in the afternoon in Asia and in the evening in the US).
